The most compelling stories are often true.
The conclusion of the 1960s saw a ubiquitous upheaval in cultural and societal norms. As the world transformed into a more progressive place, one notably public industry—‘The News’—staunchly clung to a ‘Boys Club’ mentality, ironic for a forum pervasively used to showcase injustice and corruption. A courageous cadre of women researchers working at a major publication were pushed to the breaking point, and ultimately took action in the form of a historic discrimination lawsuit. Amazon Prime Video’s Good Girls Revolt examines the lives of these fearless women, as well as the tumultuous environment that propelled them to help change the world.
Amazon has been on a momentous roll, consistently delivering groundbreaking original content for the past few seasons. Good Girls Revolt adds another gem to their catalogue of engaging and eye-opening new shows. Creator Dana Calvo (Narcos) brings the vivid backdrop of the 1969 newsroom to life, with beautiful art direction and a dynamic cast. Leading the pack are Anna Camp (Café Society, The Good Wife), Genevieve Angelson (Backstrom, House of Lies), and Erin Darke (Don’t Think Twice) as the trio of valiant individuals who stand up to the sexist old system. Supporting the team are the dependably talented Grace Gummer, Hunter Parrish, and Jim Belushi. With stunning authenticity, this sensational series shows the real-life effects of delivering a gut-punch to giants of the old world, hell-bent on maintaining the status quo.

In 1969, while a cultural revolution swept through the free world, there was still one place that refused to change with the times: newsrooms. Good Girls Revolt follows a group of young female researchers at “News of the Week,” who ask to be treated fairly. Their revolutionary request sparks convulsive changes and upends marriages, careers, sex lives, love lives, and friendships.
